The code we have is J2EE (Java). Mods to .Net is left as an exercise.

Hi, We love this utility and have used it greatly.

I was wondering if you had tested this with SP3 yet? We have converted over to SP3 and noticed that this stopped working. (It was not tested at the conversion, unfortunately, so it may have stopped working for some other reason.)

Just trying to confirm if SP3 upgrade might be the cause.
Thank you!

Few minutes later... Isn't that just the way. As soon as you ask, you figure out the question yourself!

We have also just enabled Windows AD for all users, although we are only publishing the SSO URL to some users. So, users have two authentication profiles: Enterprise and Windows AD. I read in the documentation! provided with the tool that it does not work if Windows AD is enabled.

We're at FP 3.6 and its working fine.

We've augmented the utility to allow user ID, first name/last name PLUS e-mail address.

We'll post it here when its ready.

Hi All,

If any .Net savvy developers get this working for an IIS environment, would you consider posting it.

Thanks,

Gina

We've finally done it. We've taken from BOB and now we giveth back.

Find our version of the self-service password reset tool in the downloads section. Once downloaded, read the readme.txt in the build directory.

We love this tool. We hope you will too.

Don...are you saying you've written a version of this tool for .Net? I'm looking and all I see is the original Java version at the beginning of this thread.

No, our version is Java. Specifically for site running Tomcat 5.5 (not 5.0)...

My apologies: the upload is too large for BOB to handle (25MB). I've been advised that it should be placed on a publicly accessible FTP site. We're having some issues with that.

In the meantime, if anyone is interested I can arrange delivery otherwise on a case by case basis. Please contact me at dirmiger@trinity-health.org

we have added this part of code for enable account management.

Code:

users = infoStore.query("SELECT * FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS "+ "WHERE SI_PROGID='CrystalEnterprise.USER'" + "And SI_NAME='" + userID + "'"  );
...
IUserAliases aliases = ((IUser)iUser).getAliases();
IUserAlias alias = (IUserAlias)aliases.get("secEnterprise:" + userID);
alias.setDisabled(false);

Hi Nicolas,

Each time I try to add in the code shown in your post I get the following error: The page cannot be displayed.

Can you please send me an example showing where you placed the code?

Thanks,

Simon

Hi All,

This nifty little app worked brilliantly on BOXI v2, but I am now migrating on to BO XI v3.1 - so has anyone managed to get this working on BOXI 3.1.?

I have got it so far in terms of deploying it but now I hit errors when it launches - things like:

org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP

Generated servlet error:
Only a type can be imported. com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException resolves to a package

Generated servlet error:
Only a type can be imported. com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.CrystalEnterprise resolves to a package

Generated servlet error:
Only a type can be imported. com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.IEnterpriseSession resolves to a package

Generated servlet error:
Only a type can be imported. com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.ISessionMgr resolves to a package

org.apache.jasper.compiler.DefaultErrorHandler.javacError(DefaultErrorHandler.java:84)
org.apache.jasper.compiler.ErrorDispatcher.javacError(ErrorDispatcher.java:328)
org.apache.jasper.compiler.JDTCompiler.generateClass(JDTCompiler.java:414)
org.apache.jasper.compiler.Compiler.compile(Compiler.java:297)
org.apache.jasper.compiler.Compiler.compile(Compiler.java:276)
org.apache.jasper.compiler.Compiler.compile(Compiler.java:264)
org.apache.jasper.JspCompilationContext.compile(JspCompilationContext.java:563)
org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.service(JspServletWrapper.java:305)
org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.serviceJspFile(JspServlet.java:314)
org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:264)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802)

I am no Java Guru but I expect this is because the jar files have changed and I am now not sure which ones I need to include in the WEB-INF\lib ?

If someone has fixed this already that would be fab, and if so can you post the download please? If not can anyone help me out here?

Thanks very much :0)

Post subject: Re: BOXI Password Reset Self-Serve Utility

I think the includes changed between 2 and 3 - mine look like this:

Code:
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException" %>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.CrystalEnterprise" %>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.IEnterpriseSession" %>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.ISessionMgr" %>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.infostore.IInfoStore" %>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.enterprise.ocaframework.ServiceNames"%>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.infostore.*"%>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.infostore.CePropertyID"%>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.pluginmgr.*"%>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.plugin.CeProgID"%>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.plugin.desktop.user.*"%>
<%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.properties.*"%>
<%@ page import="java.util.*"%>
<%@ page import='java.io.*' %>
<%@ page import='java.text.*' %>
<%@ page import='java.net.URL' %>

Overkill, probably... I cheated and dropped my code in the samples folder; that worked ...

Good luck,
Brent

Thanks Brent for getting back to me.

I changed the includes and dropped the Selfserve folder into Samples - and that kind of made a difference but it still errors - just a different error now:

HTTP Status 500.

A bit of a cheek but as you have managed to get this working, would it be possible to zip up your Selfserve folder with the jar files and post it on the forum - then I can try to deploy that with our credentials?

Thanks very much for your help with this - much appreciated :0)
