Post subject: Validate prompt selections?

I have prompts where the user selects a date range (start date and end date). Is there any way to validate the selections to ensure the start date is before the end date and issue a message as such?

Not with generic functionality. It would require a SDK solution, that would basically replace the entire prompt dialog box with a custom one.

I would like to do that with all my reports. If you could point me to and overview of how to implement and some sample code that would be great.

The only other solution I can think of is to cascade prompts with the LOV for end date selection dependent upon the selection of start date so they can't select earlier than start date in the end date prompts.

Use this post as a place to start. You would add your validation code behind the button click event, before setting the prompts themselves.

You'll also need to be licensed for the SDK to use this functionality.

Which is true for 5.x and 6.x (I believe).
With XI you get the SDK inclusive as far as I know icon_biggrin.gif
