Post subject: Unspecified error message

Unspecified Error - Almost every day we experience the same issue with BOXIr2 when editing a report. First an 'Unspecified Error' message appears, then one saying the following:

'Web Intelligence cannot retrieve this document due to a server problem or an error in the document structure (Error: WIJ 77777).'

The problem is not related to a specific report and is new after we migrated from BOXI to BOXIr2. The problem seems to be PC dependend, as only happens on one specific PC.

Any ideas ?

No answers, but one thing to check is does it happen for different windows and BO users on the same PC or is it just one? That might help to narrow down the search a little.

In my experience, the WIJ 77777 and WIJ 77778 errors seem to be related to a timeout. I saw a lot of the "unspecified error" message when I was doing a bunch of development in Webi XIr2. Since we upgraded to SP1, I haven't seen the error, but then again, I haven't been developing as much since the upgrade. Have you applied the SP or any Hotfixes?

We just applied SP1 and Hot Fix: boXIr2win_chf.zip
Platform: Windows
Last updated on: 6/1/2006
FTP Location: ftp://ftp1.businessobjects.com/outgoing/CHF/boXIr2win_chf

and I am still experiancing this error. I've filed a ticket with BO. Any ideas? banghead.gif

I've included a screen shot of the error.

This is because of timeout. Increase your timeout period for WIReportserver,

We are currently having this problem as well with java version 6 update 5

I hate to sound like a n00b here, but I am! I am the admin of our BO system but learning the ropes and the only major player who wasn't sent to training icon_smile.gif

How would someone change the timeout value for the WIReport server?

Thanks kilko,

I did bump the timeout and now our report writers using the installed version of Crystal Reports seem to be in good shape but the web users are still having the same issue.

I do believe it is a time out issue though for us as when actively working in the session it appears to be fine but if you let the session sit and then try to do anything the error pops up. So far the inactivity period needed to trigger the even seems to be anywhere from 5-15 minutes which is strange since most of the time outs I see are set to 20 minutes by default. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free!
