Hi - I've changed a setting in the OCIV7.SBO file (on my pc) to re-order the objects in each universe so that they appear in the same order as the database. By default, the setting is COLSORT = 3, which puts the objects in alphabetic order. I've changed it to COLSORT = 13 to put them in database order. Then, I created & exported a new universe. Even though all my clients have this OCIV7.SBO file still set to COLSORT = 3 (alpha order), the objects are in database order when they use this universe. My intention was that I could view the objects in database order, while my users could see them in alphabetic order, which is what they prefer. However, that doesn't appear to be the case. Any ideas?
We are BO 412, Oracle 7.3.

That's simply not how it works. The COLSORT variable only affects the designer and the creation of the universe. Once created, the universe won't change automatically.
The primary purpose is to rearrange the classes and objects so that they make sense to the user. This usually involves a complete rearrangement of the items so that they do not resemble the table structure or naming.
