Post subject: Its posible to each user see an image depends on your group?

I filter in the Supervisor module for each group user see the data of your “state”. Each user has only 1 state, “State” is an attribute of the Customer table.
I have in each report 1 image object with the map of a state and I need to each user see your map state image.
How can I do it?

Thanks!

Which report tool are you using? This question should probably be moved to the Reporting forum appropriate for the tool you are using to create the report.

Hello.
I think you may have to use BO variables like DBUSER and DBPASS.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I don't see how that answers his question, where he's already filtered which state they get:

[Also, in 2004, when the question was probably asked for legacy versions of BusinessObjects -- the variables had been BOUSER and BOPASS. icon_wink.gif ]

A challenging problem :-

1. When you are using only one Image(same) in each report, how can you expect this to change according to the State the user is in.....................However this is possible be adding one more Image Map
You need to define Co-Ordinates for the <Area> as constants for Each state, so, as soon as the user logs in, he sees his State ans your State cordinate will show this Image with these cordinate active.

2. Other ways are to define one <DIV> with the defined co-ordinates in the universe for Each state.

3. Simplest way is to store seperate images of states, you will get it on Internet(google Images) , save this all for 50 states. have the names column added in the database.

4. At report level you can define one Image cell with a javascript and a Select Case and pointing your state Images (at some webServer) according to the selected state. you can use 50 Alerters to do the same(this Alerter technique is better than javascript as you will get images on Exporting to PDFs and Excels)

NoWhere is it written that the filter is already done. More of this, the images could have been loaded in the database. I see no problem to this as a DW as to be fully dynamic. So using DB variables were the best. I think icon_smile.gif
