Post subject: [DI] Version Control

how can i use a tool like VSS to store individual WorkFlows and import all the workflows into a Job using a command line call(ie not using the Dataingegrator Designer GUI) ?

ie what are the best practices to be followed when multiple developers would want to modify the same workflow/dataflow? Would it be a good idea to keep all the workflows in a seperate ATL file(in VSS) and then import all the ATL files into a job via a batch process ?

Are there any tools/solutions available that could perform version control for BO DI (ver 6.5) ?

Do you have the Departmental or Enterprise version of DI? I thought the latter included some form of check-in/checkout and version control.

This is called "Central Repository".

Prepare a new user in the database and create a new repository via the RepoManager, but this time of type "central".

Than go to the Designer and select Tools -- Central Repos and add your newly created repo to the list. Once you activate it you will find a second object library with all the options like
add to central repo
checkout
checkin
show all different versions (history)
etc.

I recommend reading the docs a bit before actually using it for development...

regarding VSS, I would recommend exporting the entire repo from time to time, not individual objects - tooo cumbersome.
