Post subject: Issue connecting to SuccessFactors from BODS Adapter

Issue connecting to SuccessFactors from BODS Dataservices using the SuccessFactors Adapter.

Key points
•Data Services 4.2
•Connection to the Web Proxy requires login credentials
•Web Proxy is issuing self signed certificates and any recipient needs to trust the web proxy as a provider.

We have setup Data Services 4.2 and are having problems connecting to SuccessFactor. Our Proxy Server is setup with issuing self-signed certificates and any recipients needs to trust the web proxy as a provider. For this reason we get an error on the web browser indicating the “website is not issued with a trusted certificate authority” when we enter SuccessFactor weblink. We can continue to ignore the webpage messages and get connected.

We applied the below setting in the BODS SF adaptor to connect to SuccessFactor. This does not work due to the certificate problem.
-Xms64m -Xmx256m -Dhttps.proxyHost=<proxy IP> -Dhttps.proxyPort=<proxy port> -Dhttp.PROXY_USERNAME=<domain>\<Proxy ID> -Dhttp.PROXY_PASSWORD=<password>

We believe there is a need to install the Proxy Server and Success Factor certificates in Data Services to overcome the Proxy Server and SuccessFactor certificate trust problem.

We can download the certificates from a web browser but unsure where to import them.

Question
Where do we install the Proxy and Success Factor certificates in BODs SF Adapter so the trust is established?

Hi Dave,

Though your post is old, I would like to know if it is resolved or not. we are in need of connecting BODS4.2 with SuccessFactors. Your inputs will be very helpful to us and your quick response is highly appreciated.

Save your .cer fiOe in the trusted_certs directory.
The directory is located at <LINK_DIR>\ssl\trusted_certs.
