Post subject: quick question on future of WebI / Cloud Analytics

just need some quick feedback for planning …

- how long before BI Suite 4.2 will go away (long time, I know). But SAP called and called it a "legacy system", they want to talk about Analytics Cloud

- is BI Suite 4.3 in the works? or is 4.2 the terminal major version?

- I'm looking to do some basic dashboards in BI Suite 4.2 SP05, I assume I'm going to be using Lumira (I've reviewed the "SAP Lumira Road Map, Also Applies to … Design Studio", Sept 2018)

NOTE: 95% of what we do is operational reporting, which requires real time data (so even a 24-hour delay to update a data warehouse is unacceptable).

BI 4.3 is aimed to be released at the end of this year. Discussion with SAP product people has informed me that the on-prem product will be around until at least until 2026. The 4.3 product is offering much tighter integration with SAP Analytics Cloud.

I wouldn`t use Lumira for anything, there`s no new innovation with that product, you can build dashboards in Webi as long as you`re happy that your input controls aren`t on the dashboard page itself. I`ve done some pretty good dashboards just using Webi alone, as long as your datasources is friendly - but that would apply to anything (PBI, Tableau, etc etc).
