Post subject: Who is with me on this ?

Hello Folks,

So how would you like it if you went to Help >> About and saw

14.0 SP1 or 12.0 SP4 instead of

14.0.2.v20110603-0364 or 12.0.2.v2010xxx-0xxx

Please take a moment to vote here...

Absolutely agree with this. I know sometimes internal version numbers can be quite complex. But for customer-facing interfaces, a simple and clear version notation would be much more user-friendly. icon_biggrin.gif

Hi Naresh,

I would go a step further than your post on SAP and say that not only the Service Packs need to be called out, but the main version itself. So instead of 14.xxxx it should state, "BI 4.0 SP1" or equivalent.

Good luck with the revolution...

Judy

Now why does not snot simply say Version 4.0 SP1 or Version 4.0 SP2.

I know you're frustrated, but referring to their product as snot isn't going to help make your case.

I applause your creativity on this site to rally votes. icon_wink.gif But I am still not completely convinced on Idea Place being a viable venue to influence SAP.

Hands up anyone who has actually had an 'idea' implemented. Or if not at least had it go further than some folks voting for it.

I believe SAP is really looking for new ideas for new functionality/product. All my ideas are for enhancing the existing product. None of my ideas has changed status even though some of them have a fair number of thumbs up votes..... and I have never referred to the product as snot icon_smile.gif
