Less of a boy now, unfortunately, but yes, bad all the same icon_razz.gif .

Funnily enough, I'm now working with a NY based BI architect who used to work for Claraview icon_wink.gif.

Ever have to deal with BOBJ 6? I would rather see a quality product, and miss the dates.

BOBJ 6 was a train wreck.

Yes, but I did quite nicely out of it, especially considering how rubbish it was.

Who do get you in if you want to get it all working?

Me.

Hi guys,

I was wondering if it is possible in BI 4.0 to change the infoview timeout settings without editing 1000 xml files and strange registry settings icon_smile.gif

A: is the timeout still 20 minutes?
B: how can i change it?

Post subject: Re: New features in SAP BI 4.0

hi Mike, We are currently on BO XI 3.1 SP3 in the process of implementing "linked universes". My undestanding is that linked universes are replaced by views in BI 4.0 but they are still suported using universe designer. Please clarify the following:

1) Are these linked universes supported in the further versions or will it be deprecated?
2) Is it a good idea to implement linked universe approach now as we have real need for this?
3) Can I convert a linked universe from .unv to .unx format ?
4) Do I have to convert my linked universe to a view if universe designer is deprecated in the future releases?
5) what will happen to the companies who have lot of these linked universes?

Please advice.

Thanks,
Maddy

Hi all, can anyone tell me how can i do an assessment of BI Contents in XI 4? For example, how can i count how many Reports (by kind, and even them istances), or Universes, or Users, i have on the system?

Thanks a lot in advance.

One of the expected features in SAP BO 4.0 was controlling the USER PREFERENCES as an admin in a central way.

No I'm looking at SAP BO 4.0 but can't seem to find where they put it?
Someone a clue?

I was remembering that I saw it somewhere. I had to look into the BI platform Admin guide for 4.0. Any how it can be set at the group level (Actions-BI Launch Pad Preferences after selecting a group).

I hope this helps.
