Post subject: [Error WIS 10901]

Hi guys,

First of all, I would like to list my current state:

Server: BO XI Enterprise 3.1
OS: window 2k3 Standard
Data Source: MS SQL Server 2008

I have a universe called SVEDemo,
When I create query as web service based on SVEDemo for using in dashboards, I got this error:

getDocumentInformation exception (Error: WIS 10901)
A database error occured. The database error text is: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Statement(s) could not be prepared.. (WIS 10901)

Even I tried with SQL Server Driver, get the same error.

I don't know why I got this. Because It works well with other object except this.

I attached 2 pictures for you guys.

Object Filter 'Department':
DIM_ITM_PRD_V.PRD_DEPT = @prompt ('Department','A','Product\Prd Dept Custom LOV', mono, constrained)

Would you please help me on this?

Thanks you so much!

Open the oledb.sbo file located in the oledb directory under the connectionServer install directory.
Location : <install Directory>/ wind32_x86/dataAccess/ConnectionServer/oldedb

Under the <DataBase Active="Yes" Name="MS SQL Server 2005"> section of the file, change the following two parameters:
Parameter Provider CLSID " change value to: SQLOLEDB
Parameter Enumerator CLSID " change value to: SQLOLEDB Enumerator

In the oledb.sbo file, locate the <DataBase Active="Yes" Name="MS SQL Server 2000"> section. The parameters you set in the the <DataBase Active="Yes" Name="MS SQL Server 2005"> section should be the same as the corresponding values in <DataBase Active="Yes" Name="MS SQL Server 2000"> section.

Regards,
Mark

Why do you want to use ODBC rather than OLEDB?

Because I want to fix the problem, not change the solution. I think Filter Object is a standard object. So why does it error with SQL Server 2008 ODBC???

BTW, thanks you so much for this solution. I'll try when I know that SQL Server 2008 ODBC could not be fixed for this error.

Thanks Mark,

OK, let's figure it out first then. So what is the SQL for the filter?

I have this relationship:

one 'Product Department' have one or more 'Product Category'
one 'Product Category' belongs to one 'Product Department'

So when I choose 'Product Category', I would like to prompt the user choose which 'Product Department' the 'Product Categories' belong to that he (she) want to see.

We have:

Product -- Class
Product Category -- Dimension
Product Department -- Dimension

Department -- Filter

Formula of Department: @prompt('Choose Product Department:', 'A', 'Product\Product Department', mono, constrained)

P/S: if you know how to configure for ODBC, please help me on this.

Thanks Mark,

Ah, so your filter should be
Code:
@Select(Product\Product Department) = @prompt('Choose Product Department:', 'A', 'Product\Product Department', mono, constrained)

You aren't comparing your prompt to anything.

To change from ODBC, create a new connection using SQL Server 2008 OLEDB - if you've got the details of the ODBC connection (the DSN entry) then you will have enough to set up the OLEDB connection.

Regards,
Mark
