Can you be a bit clear.

Do you have the date column in the universe and wanted it to be as a prompt in the report?

thnks for the reply but it is asking only once to enter the date even i tried creating two objects in universe as strt_dt>=@Prompt('date','D',,MONO,Free)
another one as end_dt <=@Prompt('Enter the Start Date','D',,MONO,Free)

no success still it is taking only one value

In the first example you gave your prompt text was identical. In that case you would only see one prompt. You need to make absolutely sure that your text is unique and descriptive. If you are not seeing a prompt, then make sure you're using the most up-to-date version of the universe for your report after you make universe changes.

Or you need to scroll down and enter all prompts when you run the report icon_smile.gif .

It's a simple thing, but it's tripped me up before

Hi

thanks for the reply but i am getting confused, i know it is very simple thing which i am asking, sorry for that....

need to create two prompts start date and end date when report gets refreshed then he should have asked to provide start date and end date so that report should be filtered...
for eg if user select start date as 01/01/2010 and 01/10/2010 as end date then report should show data between these two dates.

i hope i am not confusing you...

regards

1. open universe
2. create condition with the syntax Dave posted above
3. save condition
4. export the universe
5. create the report out of this universe using new condition
remember that the texts of prompts need to be different
It should work icon_wink.gif

Post subject: Re: how to create start and end date prompt in webi report

Hi, based on the above discussion, I need a help.

I have a prompt on date on my report. I want to capture the year number based on the date entered in BOBJ prompt as an input to a prompt on the universe. Below is my requirement. 2013 should be based on the year of the date entered by the user on the report.

"select FULL_MIDNIGHT_DATE as start_date from D_DATE_445 where D_DATE_445.DAY_NUMBER_IN_YEAR=1 and YEAR_NUMBER=2013"

I am using YEAR_NUMBER=@Prompt('Enter Date:','D','D Date 445\Year Number_445',MONO,Free) , on the but it does not give me the desired result.

Can anyone help please.

what about this piece of logic, shouldn't that be in your condition?

Code:
where D_DATE_445.DAY_NUMBER_IN_YEAR=1

Hi Mak,

Day number in year is already in the condition. ("select FULL_MIDNIGHT_DATE as start_date from D_DATE_445 where D_DATE_445.DAY_NUMBER_IN_YEAR=1 and YEAR_NUMBER=2013"). To get the year number, i dont want to use the hardcoded 2013, instead derive it from the prompt date.
