|
|
Hi,
I am working the first time with profiles in a BO XI 3.1 SP2 system. The documentation isn't that good, so I am going to ask here some questions
I created a sample WebI report showing two tables. As far as I have read profiles enable me to show specific data to specific users.
So I created a profile, in "Profile Targets" I specified one universe dimension that I don't want to show a certain user.
How do I now proceed? I would like to apply the profile to a publication but couldn't figure out how to do this...
Thanks! |

Search for the XI R3 Publishing Guide on the SAP support site if you haven't already - I found it gives a decent explanation on how to go about applying profiles to your publications for bursting.... _________________ System Profiler 3.0 for BusinessObjects - exposes your CMS repository metadata for reporting

I may be missing something... I created this profile and specified a dimension from the "Island Resort" universe which I don't want to show to other users.
I create a WebI report based on this universe. Could I now add this profile to users, groups and publications in CMC or is there another way?
Is the sense of profiles only the hiding of dimensions in existing reports?
Thanks again! |

Create a system profile.
Create groups or users wuth profile values typically corresponding to the above.
Create a Publication.
Use Enterprise Recipient Option to specify the subscribers.
Use the Personlization option to declare the profile.
