Post subject: edit report in original folder but save only to favorites

I want the following rights:
Right to edit query
Save As to favorites folder and no where else
User should also not be able save back to the original folder but can edit and save to favorites

The last part is tricky as when I grant edit objects on Content>Web Intelligence to allow edit of query , the save option appears in tool bar allowing user to save back the report from where it was opened.

I want to allow edit of the query and only saving to the favorites and no where else..
Can anyone, please help!

a)
Allow the user to save it to favourites.

b) At the Public Folder level, the user should not have Edit the Document Right.

edit objects , what are the other rights I need to grant and at what level - application, folder and content to achieve what I am looking for.

In the rights Tab of the folder, add the user or group, Go to Advanced Rights:

Select the following rights :

Add objects to the folder : Not Specified (The user will not be able to copy the report to any of the Public Folders)

Copy objects to another folder : Granted (This right will alow the user to copy the report to the favourites)

If you grant rights to copy to another folder then users can copy reports from public folders to their favourites area and do as they please there.

If users do not have edit or add objects rights on public folders then they will not be able change any reports in public folders.

Hi anushajq, Try with these rights
Add objects to folders that the user owns at General ,Application - Infoview ,Application - Web Intelligence,System - User Group,Content - Folder.
Copy objects to another folder at Content - Web Intelligence Report - General Rights

I don't believe this is possible in XI 3.0. It did in XI R2 but so far I've not been able to replicate it in 3.

Care to share your settings?

If you don't grant edit objects, you don't get the option to 'Modify' or 'Edit' the report you cannot get into the Java panel. If you grant it, then the report can be modified.

This wasn't the case with XI R2.

Arjun if i add "Add objects to folder" user can save in public folder...
and I have need that user can edit the report but NOT save in public folder and save in favorite folder....

Cashworth i have XI 3.1, in XI R2 there are others permission?
In 3.1 it would serve a permission "copy object in folder that you own" but there isn't....I do not succeed to obtain what I want icon_sad.gif
