Post subject: "Save to my computer as" & "Save report t

Hello,

We are on BOXI 3.1.

Does anyone know the difference between the two menu options in Infoview, named "Save to my computer as" and "Save report to my computer as" under "Document"? In my case, I want to save the data in a Webi report I am working on to Excel on my computer.

Both options create the file locally on my computer. They result seems to be the same to me, so why the two menu options?

Thank you!

Save to my computer saves the entire document (report).

Save report to my computer saves the current report (report tab).

Quite handy new feature in my opinion icon_smile.gif

The moment you disable the option to save an individual tab within a report, you will have another user ring you and ask "how can I save just one tab - not the whole document?"

Tell them it can't be done. Save yourself the stress.

Check the CMC; there are individual Web Intelligence Report rights for:
- Export the reports data
- Save as Excel
- Save as PDF
- Save as CSV

Apply where required.

Cheers for the reply, but after going into the User Security on a specific Web Intelligence report. Then clicking Content -> Web Intelligence Report -> Specific Rights for Web Intelligence Report, and selecting Denied on the option "Export the report's data". The menu option within the report still allows the option "Document" -> "Save report to my computer as".

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Did you amend any of the Save As rights?

From the Admin Guide:
Export the report's data
Lets you export document data to Excel, PDF, and CSV formats. If you do not have this right, you require the "Save as CSV", "Save as Excel", or "Save as PDF" right; these rights let you export documents in the specified format only.

Save as Excel
Lets you export documents as Excel files only. If you have the "Export the report's data" right on a document already, you do not require this right.
