I have the same problem but when I run two or more Qaaws in Xcelsius Web Intelligence Processing Server is restarted, this happened to me after running WebIntelligence reports of a BW cube with a very large volume of information, this caused everything to be slower .. . BOE reboot, Tomcat, etc and the service restarts when running Xcelsius Dashboard
Xcelsius Dashboard worked, but after that no longer runs the Qaaws
I'm changing the parameter Maximum Recycling Documents Before, but continuous restarting ...
My environment is:
BOE XIR3.1 on Solaris 10 64 bit
Xcelsius 2008
If anyone has any similar case that could provide information be grateful

For what it is worth, we are still experiancing the issue.
We have greatly reduced the frequency by running a script to recycle the SIA ngithly. In process of adding a stop of Tomcat since that also seems to need some love and attention everyso often.
Checking other posts here and at SAP, there is a reference to this (again cryptic) that states it is fixed in FP 2.7.
Quesiton to everyone that has 2.7 or 2.8 installed - Did you experiance this issue, and has it stopped since installing the FP? |

Hi KevinI:
I have my doubts about the FP, not usually use them because I bring more problems ...
I migrated my development to production and there if it works correctly , then it may be something corrupted in the Processing Server service, and reviewing the chache size used is 4000 kb, and production is 400 kb , is there any way to dump this cache? and how? ... maybe that is the problem
Anyone know anything about this?

webi proc server,
you should have about as many webi proc server as you have cpu /core. so if you use webi a bit having 2-3-4 webi proc server is fairly normal
they will recycle once in a while. and they can get max out of connection as well
add more webi and monitor them |

hi antatack,
thanks for the reply. i tried adding wips, and i noticed that if 1 wips "hangs" the other wips will not function, it's not that other wips will also have a starting status, it's like they are not functioning anymore.
btw, i use sap bw cubes and queries as datasources
thanks _________________ RA Estadilla

Hello All,
Not sure if this will help or not but here is what I recently faced.
We have the default WEBIProcessingServer and then cloned it to have a secondary. It was running fine until one night 2 weeks back when the secondary one stopped starting back up with our nightly BO Refresh. The short of the long story is there is a box in the Properties page of the WEBIProcessingServer that says:
Automatically start this server when the Server Intelligence Agent starts.
We simply checked this box, bounced the entire BO server and ever since that it is running beautifully. At this point in working with the new version now for a while, I would suggest nightly refreshes of the entire server or at least an SIA refresh to help get rid of the memory and crap that gets filled up.
I was a little mad that our problem was as simple as a checkbox but hey, we got it working so I'm happy.
Hope this helps someone. Thanks.

We are in a cluster environment and on FP 2.7.
we DO NOT see this problem occurs in our environment sepcifically with WebI Processing Servers.
However sometimes we do see it hapening with other services such as Connection Servers or Adaptive servers.

Hi,
Iam facing the same problem over here...We are using BOXI R3.1 with SP3.Everytime we cannot forcefully terminate the " WebIntelligenceProcessingServer" and start it again.
What would be permanent solution for this?
Thanks,
Nisha |

ADAPT01331587 and webi hung, this may help someone.
If you are on same version as our installation we got “BOE_XI_3.1_LAFix2.1.37_Windows.zip” hotfix from SAP support.
This hotfix contains “NameServerSubsystem.dll” which we re-placed in win32_x86 folder.
This resolved webi hung/initialized/starting issue. _________________ BO Environment:BOXIR3 +SP2 and FP 2.2 +FP2.9

Hi mchoure!
Did SAP gave you the file directly or is it available for download at their site?

They gave file directly, It is quite a hassle to get special hotfix as it is not regression tested. _________________ BO Environment:BOXIR3 +SP2 and FP 2.2 +FP2.9

As I thought, because I can't find the file in the service market place. Maybe I'll have to raise a ticket to SAP.
