[BOBJ 5.x] Getting cartesian product error

Post subject: Getting cartesian product error

Hi,

I tried to modify a dimension objects by adding another dimension objects in a report level.For that i just add that new objects in the query panel of that data provider,while just dragging that objects in the query panel it throwing a error called Cartesian product error.

what i have to do to come over those errors.Its very urgent pls reply ASAP.

Welcome to BOB,

Try using the BusinessObjects Desktop search with keywords "Cartesian product" .

It looks that some objects that you selected in the query panel come from 2 different tables that are not joined in the universe. This way BO is telling/warning you about a possible Cartesian product.

If you are a universe developer too then check the universe that you use in the report and identify the table behind the objects that you used in the query panel.

If you are a BO user/report developer then ask your BO universe developer to review the universe and to fix the problem if it's possible.
