I have LCM installed on both our Prod and Dev servers, I can login to both instances and things appear fine. The Prod and Dev servers are on different VLANS and can resolve the others hostname.
When I go to Admin Options > Manage Systems > Add, when trying to add the destination node I get the following message:
| Code: | | testbo01:6400 does not exist in the network |
I am able to successfully telnet to 6400 on both servers, any ideas? |

After taking a packet capture when trying to add the destination source, it was discovered that LCM first attempts to ping the destination, and if that fails you receive this message. We have ICMP disabled, so after enabling ICMP between the source and destination we successfully added the destination. |

have you installed the default version of LCM, version nr 12.1.0.63? BOBJLCM02 0-10008378 seems to be SP2 which is not cumulative, correct someone if I'm wrong... _________________ DWH, BOE/Crystal, DataServices EIM, BEX to WebI/Crystal migration, SAP BPC, SAP BW, Xcelsius, QlikView, SAP HANA.

I have a case open with SAP BO re trying to install LCM SP3.
I initially received the Skip Patch messages so attempted a CLI install using the command to bypass this.
The problem here is that you can't generate a setup.ini (capturing the replies for a silent install) as you need a successful initial install to generate this.
I then used a regular command line entry:
setup /qn+ NAMESERVER="server" NSPORT="6400" CMSUSERNAME="Administrator" CMSPASSWORD="password" CMSAUTHENTICATION="secEnterprise" SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK="true"
Which forced the install - and I could sign in to LCM but then received messages: Sorry, LCM application is unable to process your request
Looking at the install logs, there is a configuration issue and some of the previous install attempts list:
MSI (c) (5C:C [08:00:05:393]: Product: Lifecycle management for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 Update -- The Lifecycle management Tool cannot be installed on the system as the install prerequisites are not met.
I've fiddled the registry and tried a few alternatives - no go.
The local vendor sent me a doc on how to remove CMS entries from a previous install that is a known issue, but this is not our issue.
I.e. the case was logged yesterday and we'll see what SAP BO support says.
I suspect it's due to to the system having had BOE Sp2 removed (along with LCM) and then having SP3 applied onto BOE SP1 - and then attempting to do a clean LCM SP3 install.

Hi,
Currently we are having following version installed on DEV server.
Product: BOXI 3.1 LCM
Enviornment: BOXI 3.1
Current Version: 12.1.0.0
We have to install latest SP and FP of SAP Business Objects LifeCycleManager i.e. SAP Business Objects LifeCycleManager 3.1 ServicePack 3 and FixPack3.1.
Do I need to update the current version to SAP Business Objects LifeCycleManager SP2 and then update to SAP Business Objects LifeCycleManager SP3?
Or Can I directly install update SAP Business Objects LifeCycleManager SP3 on SAP Business Objects LifeCycleManager SP1?
Please guide.
Thanks in advance. |

The vendor sent me the message below yesterday i.e. we already have BOE SP3 installed but now cannot upgrade LCM to SP3 as we removed / bypassed BOE SP2.
I've tried just about every option I can think of to force the install but then LCM is non functional ie. I'm going to rebuild this weekend.
SAP/BO message:
It is not possible to go from the RTM version of LCM to SP3. You must go to SP2 first as its a significant upgrade from the LCM v1.
Unfortunately, if you have BOE SP3 already installed on the machine then it's not possible to install the SP2 version of LCM.
The only way to install LCM SP3 if you already have XI 3.1 SP2 installed is
1) Install LCM v1
2) Install LCM SP2
3) Install BOE SP3
4) Install LCM SP3 _________________ Image linkImage linkImage linkImage link |

Hi Mike,
Thanks for reply.
little confusion
I am currently having 12.1.0.0 version of LCM. Is this version means LCM v1 ?
If yes then, I will follow below process
1. update current version of LCM to SP2 and FP 2.6.
2. Update BOE environment to SP3 from current version (SP2, FP2.6)
3. then update LCM to SP3.
Please guide. |

Alternately, you can uninstall LCM v1 and install the LCM SP3 full build (refresh install).

Hi Maheshwar,
Thanks for your reply.
We already installed as per mentioned in my previous reply.
But when I test LCM after installation, it was giving error due to some LCM entries stored in Input FRS. After deleting those entries, we are able to login in screen now but following things are not visible in LCM window.
a. Option for Version Management in drop down list
b. Administration Options
Please guide[/img] |

What i found was that the LCM SP3 install from the SAP site that is easy to find is only the sp3 upgrade. if you want the sp3 full install for LCM you need to search the install applications for "Life Cycle" and you will find
51038928 SBOP LIFECYCLE MANAGER XI 3.1 SP3 WIN Server on IA32 32bit
that is the full version. uninstall any prior version and install this version. _________________ DANIEL FIELDS. |

| So, now that I've got 3.1 SP3 and LCM SP3, what is the install sequence for a clean install? Thanks in advance for your help. |
