Thought I'd share this................
Customer is on BOXI R2 SP3.5 - 3 node cluster (Win 4x8)
Due to customer performance complaints and personal observation, I created a small SDK program that ran from client (and Citrix) to gather timings on Enterprise Logon, Retrieving a Deski report (FRS) and Querying the first 500 Users from CMS (common taks in scheduling).
More than expected, the times varies from Logon (2 - 40 secs), CMS (20-400 secs) and FRS text (10-80sec) throughout the day all day for a couple days.
We tested with only one node up for a couple days and got very slightly improved minimun times (still hugh spikes).
Afte changing the registry value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\CMS\Instances\CLUSTER.cms\MaximumObjectsToKeepInMemory --> Change 10000 to 100000
-->>> now all Logons 1-2 sec, CMS 6-10 sec and FRS 10-20 sec...!!!!!!!
The CMS process was taking 180MB now 250MB - it must have been just under the cache size and constantly clearing and rebuilding cache.
Cache is KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ Charles A. Wiese

| Hi Chuck, Remski here. I will give this one a try, burning a new XIr2 SP3 box for the WebParts kit....It is an awesome tool for portalizing BOB-Webi's. |
