SWF files generated from Xcelsius 2008 that contain a QaaWS data component result in the following error #2170.
Same QaaWS used with Xcelsius 4.5 on same machine works. Searches on line revealed the following solution (link below) - not sure where this file is to edit, and why only 2008 files are affected. Thoughts/Suggestions?

Thanks - finally worked out.
I've attached the xml File below. Couple of notes from BO support.
"If your setup is out-of-the box, then likely you are using Apache Tomcat that is installed with BOE XIR2 SP2. Then the root directory would be here:
<drive>:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat\webapps\ROOT
After saving the file there, restart Tomcat to apply those changes." |

Glad to see it worked. Seems to be a common problems with Flash 9.0.

FYI:
Error #2170 can also be a URL issue when trying to view a xcelsius swf hooked up to QaaWs inside of InfoView. I just ran into this issue, basically if the qaaws host url is different from the URL (a redirect) that is called when the user selects the swf inside of InfoView then you will receive this error.
The solution was to modify the URL in the host edit panel in QaaWs to what the redirect url was.
Ex.
http://servername:8080/dswsbobje/......
to
https://redirect.url.com/dswsbobje/..... |

I ran into Error 2170 today. In my case, the Webservice-URL in the datamanager was not entered properly. It read "http://localhost..." which will probably work as long as you are running the swf directly on the servermachine. To get rid of the error, I had to enter the complete URL in the Data-Managers Webservice-URL-field (i.e. http://192.168.... or http://server.yourbuisness.com:9988...) |

This error can be caused due to a missing or wrong configured crossdomain.xml file on the server which offers the webservice. If it's a public internet webservice, unfortunately, you won't have any influence on the crossdomain.xml... Could you post the webservice's wsdl-url? |

For using web services with Xcelsius, do you have to put the crossdomain.xml file on the root of the web server that holds the .swf file?
or
Put the crossdomain.xml file on the root of the server that is providing the web service?
or
both? |

Hi Citrix32,
could you please let me know the location where to place this cross doman.xml when using WebLogic (solaris) connecting to a Win 2003 CMS server?
Will the text in crossdomain.xml change based on our configuration.
Your response is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kumar. |

Hi,
I have the same issue with error #2170. I have a webi report in LiveOffice Excel and then have built the XLF on top of this spreadsheet and exported to BOE. On my machine when I preview the SWF outside of BOE environment it as expected prompts me for login details and then brings back correct data
I have added the crossdomain.xml to my apache server on Solaris which is not residing on the same machine as BOE. ../webapps/ROOT
BOE is on the machine sfwdsunapp001
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy (View Source for full doctype...)>
- <cross-domain-policy>
<allow-access-from domain="sfwdsunapp001.company.com" secure="true" />
</cross-domain-policy>
Anyone know what I need to do further to overcome this problem ? |

C:\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\java\server\work\BODEV.WebApplicationContainerServer\catalina\ROOT\ |
