I have seen on the BO site that certification in DI is now available.
Has any-one on here completed the exams, and how did you find them?
I have been on the 4 day course and have the manual. Is that sufficient? |

There are two exams for the DI certification, and at the moment training is only available for the first exam. The second training course for DI should be out soon.
I have sat but failed the first exam, and I found it quite a bit more difficult than the BOE Administration exams.
However, if you know DI quite well, and do a bit of cramming from the manual before the exam, you have a fair chance of passing! _________________ Regards,

as the blurb says you should really have a years experience with DI for the first one. I know the people who are likely to have written the exam and I'd say that what you learn on the course is nowhere near sufficient for the exam.
As for the second "advanced" exam you're definitely going to need some practical experience to get a good score. However the pass rate for this one is only 55% so probably a photgraphic memory of the manual will suffice! |

Hi all,
I took the certification last week.People say its hard.
believe me its hard??
you really need to have one year experience for it.I am not sure about the advanced but for Ist level its 75%.
They ask you all the topics mentioned in the sheet and dig some micro points.
I am happy that I made it
Thanks,
shawn |

Congratulations.
I recently sat the exam again, and this I passed as well, so I was happy with that. The exam was definitely a bit harder than the BOCP-BOE exams, and I would say you needed to have the practical experience first.
Now time to study for the second exam! _________________ Regards,

Here is my comment about 2 exams:
DMDI 201
High passing score means the exam is not difficult. Similar to those exams of CR, the questions include some setting, buttons, transform usage, ... Please pay attention to DI management console.
DMDI 301
Low passing score . The questions are crazy. I don't think you can pass the exam without luck. The questions include DI advanced features e.g. performance tuning, server admin, connectivity to mainframe and SAP, ...
My conclusion: hands on experience is a must. _________________ BOCP - BOE, CR & DI

| I agree that questions in the second exam do seem strange. For instance it would ask how to do the equivalent of a database-specific command (non-ansi sql), great if you happen to know that command in that database requires guesswork if you don't as you don't know what you are trying to achieve |

Hi everyone. i am new to this forum and have recently completed DMDI 201. it was tougher than i thought and experience is essential as some questions' material was not in the manual. with that said, i am now preparing for DMDI 301 and am wondering what material is available to help. if there is a course please let me know what it is. if there is no course, what material can be used to prepare

i would like to prepare as much as i can and not rely on just luck. is experience the only teacher for 301? there has to be somewhere where the concepts are introduced and detailed etc to act as a foundation for the 'experience'.
also, how long do i have between the 1st exam and 2nd before my 1st pass expires (as in how long do i have before i have to complete both exams from the day i wrote the 1st) thanks in advance for your advice |

There is no webinar for the sceond DI exam (I asked the person who made the available webinar in the partner extranet). But anyway, as mentioned above the first test is really tough and recquires much more knowledge than found in a webinar.
I passed the first one today and start preparing for the second one; in my opinion, reading the corresponding documentation is mandatory and practical work (according to the recquirements in the test description)....and of course daily reading of BOB forum which taught me a lot this year. |

I was a beta tester for both of the exams last year, I took the first exam and then the second exam 2 weeks later. I passed both of them. By that point I had been working with DI for 2 years. I don't remember a whole lot about either test, those cells have been flushed since then, but I do remember that the impression I got on the first test was that if you had used the tool and all of it's functionality you wouldn't have much of a problem. The second test, I thought I'd flunked it to be honest. There were a lot of questions about things that in a normal environment you wouldn't run across like Cobol Copybooks, Unix installation, and thinks dealing with differences in configuration between a windows box and a unix box. I've done quite a bit of complex stuff with DI, and I guess that knowledge enabled me to pass that second test. One of our other engineers took the test at the same time as part of the beta testing and he passed both as well. We just had a third newer engineer take the tests and he passed both as well.
All I did for studying was go over the different PDF files that come with DI and review them.

Maybe I should do the exams as well. Given the fact a good portion of the questions originate by me I should be able to pass the test, actually everything else than 100% would be **interesting**. On the other hand, imagine I fail those tests
