Its one of those that doesn't sound much....then you read the description and realise you've had exactly the same problems and never done anything about it.....until now. Vote, vote, vote _________________ cheers, Nick |

I've submitted a couple more, related to Information Design Tool:
Format Multiple Objects Simultaneously: In Designer, we can select multiple objects at once, and apply formatting to all of them together. In IDT, we need to apply formats to objects, one at a time. We should be able to multi-select objects, and format them all at once. In addition, it would be great to have a format painter, so we can copy the format of one object, to another object.
Saving Custom Formats: In Designer, when I create a custom format, and apply it to an object, that format is saved, so I can use it again on another object. However, in IDT, if I create a custom format, I can only apply it to the currently selected object. If I want to apply it to another object, I have to recreate it for that object. I would like the ability to create and save custom formats, so I don't have to create them over and over again.

Oh, yes. A BIG vote for that one.
I just opened another one. I can't believe this is missing:
IDT - Show Object SQL: When using the @Select function in an object's SQL, we are missing the fuinctionality to "Show Object SQL" like we have in Designer. It's very difficult to troubleshoot an object unless I can see the entire SQL being used. Please add the functionality to see the entitre SQL statement when using the @Select or @Where functions.
The more I work in IDT, the more frustrated I am with it. I feel a blog post coming on. _________________ Michael Welter, BOCP-BOE, Webi Image link

You submitted this yesterday and it's already "Accepted". Who did you bake cookies for? |

You would think so. But I'm finding a whole bunch of missing functionality, that was available in Designer. That's why I keep submitting so many ideas.

Wow, that was fast. And after only 4 votes. But the comment says that they are already working on it. Sweet. _________________ Michael Welter, BOCP-BOE, Webi Image link

That's actually one of my beefs with Ideas -- they'll consider that to be a delivered idea, even though it was already in the works at the time you submitted it. |

They should have just preloaded the Ideas site with stuff in DeskI that's not in WebI. |

Best idea yet. I don't know why they ignored so many of the great Deski features when creating Webi. I understand prioritization and all that, but Deski has been on its deathbed more or less for 9 years as mentioned in another post I can't find at the minute so I have very little sympathy for that argument. No possibility to reuse Deski code with a new shade of lipstick? Somebody forgot the password to the Deski source control system? _________________ "She wanted to get a cat...I didn't want to get a cat...so...we compromised and got a cat." |

Could keep anorak busy for weeks porting his thread over to the SAP Ideas place. Hide in pivot would be useful - there's only so many workarounds you can use before you compromise the maintability of a report. _________________ Available from 1st July 2013 for contract/consultancy work throughout the UK
