Post subject: ORA-00001 Unique Constraint Error

Hi All,

I am executing a job in the test repository and it is throwing an error. One of the developer ran the job in the dev system and migrated to test. Now it is throwing an error. Please let me know if you have any solutions.

Execution of <Regular Load Operations> for target <TIME_DIM> failed. Possible causes: (1) Error in the SQL syntax; (2) Database
connection is broken; (3) Database related errors such as transaction log is full, etc.; (4) The user defined in the datastore
has insufficient privileges to execute the SQL. If the error is for preload or postload operation, or if it is for regular load
operation and load triggers are defined, please check the SQL. Otherwise, for (3) and (4), please contact your local DBA.

I think you are having duplicate records in your target. Is the data same in Dev and test. The unique constraint doesn't allow to insert/update the table if you have dupes.
Once you identify the dupes and fix it, the job should work.

Good Luck

Suppose if we have duplicates in the target how can we eradicate those. By using the table comparison and checking the input contain duplicates box to avoid?

Thanks for your reply ...

You are trying to load two rows which both have the same values in the Primary Key columns. Either because your source has two, or you did load the row yesterday already and now another time, or the primary key definition in the target is wrong.

You have to tell what should happen now. Best will be to switch on the overflow file in the loader options for a minute and execute the job. This will tell you what row caused the uniqueness violation and you can start tracing the root cause.

Hi Amarnath, welcome to the forum.

Would you please take some effort in understanding where the duplicate is? You are basically trying to key in multiple values to the PK combination of your target table.

This is a Data Issue or even maybe the way you load the data to the table(eg: say do not deleting records before load etc.,)
So please take time to explain what are you trying to achieve...
