Post subject: how to redirect OpenDocument link from BO XI R2 to XI 4.0

i have lot of reports which has hyperlinking in XI R2 and they are now being migrated to XI 4.0, how can i automate the process to redirect the link from XI R2 to XI 4.0 at the web application server level.

If you provide the steps to achieve this, it will be of great help.

Check the opendocument URL. I do know that the opendocument.jsp command is in a different location from R2 to 3.1 but I am not sure if there is a difference between 4.0 and 3.1

With that being said you need to check to see if the opendocument syntax is using the relative path or not and update the syntax accordingly. I don't think there is a way to auto'magically' do this for you.

Thanks ....mcliffordgoo

But, i have done some research on redirecting BO XI R2 OpenDocument URL to BO XI 4.0 in SNET Environment.

In the upgraded environment, create a new folder structure in Application server (Tomcat) to match the opendoc function in the R2 environment. In BI 4.0, Under the application server folder location Tomcat6 -> webapps. Create the folders businessobjects -> enterprise115 -> desktoplaunch -> opendoc (Matches R2 structure). Create a file openDocument.jsp. This jsp file should contain the code below. Basically it just redirects the user to the new openDoc jsp file.

<%
String redirectURL = "http://myserver/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?" + request.getQueryString();
response.sendRedirect(redirectURL);
%>

Replace the input parameters with server IP address:portnumer (e.g. 10.233.10.166:8080). After making the changes restart Tomcat server. Open any migrated BO XIR2 report (Crystal/Webi etc..) with open document link in BI.4.0. CUID’s in BO X2/R3 will remain the same in BI 4.0 post upgradation. Attached the openDocument.jsp file for reference.

Hi!

The steps are:

1. In the web server, copy from BO XI instalation the folder
"E:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects XI\Tomcat6\webapps\OpenDocument" to BO 4.0 instalation file
E:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects 4.0\Tomcat6\webapps

2. In the folfer "E:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects 4.0\Tomcat6\webapps\OpenDocument\opendoc" search the file openDocument.jsp and replace all the content with:

<%
String redirectURL = "http://myserver/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?" + request.getQueryString();
response.sendRedirect(redirectURL);
%>

3. Save
