Post subject: Recommended Hardware for WRC

We have almost completed the migration from Deski to Webi.Image link

Now, we have Webi Rich Client installed on few machines. But I feel that the performance of WRC is very poor as compared to Deski.Image link

We have desktop with around 100Gb of Disk space and 1Gb memory? Is this sufficient for WRC? I am little bit concerned on the second part (1Gb RAM).Image link

Could any one please confirm what should be the recommanded (not minimum) hardware configuration for WRC?
Also share some tips - if clearing Browser's Temp pages and/or Windows locations which we can clean periodically that can helps in better performance.

Post subject: Off topic question!

Hi,

We are in the process of upgrading from BOXIR2 to BOXIR3.2. We are using Oracle as our database.

One of the recommendations was to use UTF-8 for the database. Do we definitely need to change our setting?

XIR2 works fine without UTF-8. I donot know what is the current encoding standard though.

Thanks!

Hi Again,

I did find the encoding of my current database. It is 'WE8ISO8859P1'.
I dont know what that means but will XIR3.2 support with this encoding.

Thank You!

You can check the supported platform guide for the locale setup.
UTF8 is the format supported by BusinessObjects..
