Post subject: Time limit exceeded issue

I have a few Batch Jobs in BO DS XI 3.1 which are giving me the following error when executed as a result of which the data has still not been populated in the tables even once !!

|Dataflow DF_SUP_EXT_EKPO_GM2 R/3 CallReceive error <Function Z_AW_RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_AND_RUN: . Time limit exceeded.>

The batch job is handling around 5 million rows which is not much considering we have run jobs with more data without any glitch.

Can somebody help me understand how this could be resolved ?[/b]

There are settings within SAP that specify how long ABAP programs can run or wait to be executed. Give this error message to your SAP team and they should be able to help you out.

What setting do you have for your SAP datastore for the "Execute in background" option? Changing this setting to Yes has helped me get by this error in the past.

Thanks Dan.

As per your suggestion I changed the setting to "Yes" for "Execute in background" but that doesn't help either.

Now I tried populating the data based on some condition so that breaks the data into lesser number of records being fetched. But I am getting the "Unique Constraint Error" now while data is getting populated. But this error appears only after few successful uploads ie, only few conditions put in the query give this error.

Any clue on what could be the issue and the solution?

Also, can you guide me on how to make use of Indexes in BODS?

Hi,

I am getting the similar error. Is there any work around. We got one production issue and after applying note we are getting this TIME out error. The extractor is doing initial load where as from BODS end it is showing as a delta mode only

Have you applied all ODP Extractor related SAP Notes on the SAP server?
