Post subject: Merging the queries in Business objects

Hi All,

I am new to this place.

I need a help in merging the queries in Business Objects from two different universes. The data is more appropriate for my testings if I get from the two universes.

let me know how I can move about this.

Regards,
Ignesh

You're going to have to ask a more specific question.

In the data viewer, you choose the dimensions one by one and then choose how they link to the other data provider.

The report block needs objects from both data providers for it to work.

It works differently in DeskI than in WebI.

Hi,

I have created two queries from two universes.

Now, I need to merge to get the data into one report for the validations.

But, unfortunately I am not able to merge the dimensions in the results area. I tried selecting two variables but MERGE option is not enabling for merging.

Let me know how to use the merge option and how to enable it.

So, this is Web Intelligence right?

You merge when viewing the report. View your results and you will see the merge button.

Also moving this to the WebI forum.

Apologize for the wrong indications.

Yes, it is an WebXI, I somehow managed to merge and get the data but I have to use it for each single variable that I have to merge and mass is not allowed.

Is there anyway I can use in mass and get the report.

You can only merge on dimension objects from a data provider, you cannot merge on variables that you create on the report. I don't know if that's what you are trying to do or not; your question is a bit unclear.

Yes, I am merging the data provided objects and tried to do. Successful on only one objects merging and using on merged variable.

I have too repeat that action several times for getting all the objects correctly which I am looking for.

You do all of the merging on the same screen. Scroll down to the listed dimensions, select the ones you want to merge, merge, and then repeat for the next set of dimensions you want to merge.

I don't see what your question is. If you have done it once, then you know what to do. Simply repeat for each set of dimension objects that you need to merge.

Yes, I have done the same actions.

I have merged and used one dimension similarly I have repeated the steps for twice. So, totally I have got 3 variables listed out.

When I am using the second variable in the report fields it showing up error as #MULTIVALU.

Any idea how to resolve this.

I think the question is: Can I merge more than 1 at a time? The answer is, "no.". You have to merge each dimension, individually.

Post subject: Re: Merging the queries in Business objects

I read this exchange, and a similar problem.

When I do a report with synchonised dimension(s), and when the relation between the 1st request and the 2nd request is a (1-n) relation type, in the report the data issued from the 2nd request are not dispayed but replaced by #MULTIVALU or #VALEURMULTI

Do you have an idea to display so many lines than different values from the 2nd request ?

more details for my tries:

request 1 : CHG id, submit date, summary ...
request 2 : CHG id and CHG id linked (to the CHG id)
dimension synchronised : request1.CHG id and request2.CHG Id synchronised in the new dimension CHG

report 1 : data from request1 OK
report 2 : data from request2 OK, and for some request1.CHG id I have 2 ou 3 request2.CHG id linked

report 3, that I would like to have ...
data from request1 + CHG id linked (2 or 3 sometimes)
but I have #VALEURMULTI when the CHG Id have more than 1 CHG id linked
