That should not happen, escalate your case if possible (with your SAP account manager)icon_exclaim.gif

having opened a case regarding the same trouble, we have been said to send a email to contract.center.bosap.emea@sap.com but never did it. hopping it could help

Sadly we've tried and still no joy. Our account manager is 'not complimentary' of the changes since the SAP take-over. To get service packs and software I've been going to great lengths ie getting it from the UK office in Maidenhead (UK)

Please, what does "not complimentary" mean? iamwithstupid.gif

"not complimentary" is a polite way of saying that he says it is not good.

Before the SAP take-over, it was easy to get access to the software that we had paid for. Through the ESD site usually.
Now with the SAP Marketpalce I am offered Japaneses language packs, and software applications that I have no need (or license) for.

Is there any other possibility for me to have SP2 for BO XI 3.1?

Ahh yes, the good old straightforward days of ESD icon_biggrin.gif

Just quickly search, click and download. Done!

But now that SAP have got their grubby, over managed fingers on BusinessObjects, trying to find what you're looking for on their "Marketplace" is like trying to find an honest politician not claiming expenses mad.gif

Rant over. Sorry.

I have had more issues with that SAP website than I've ever had with my BO software. That website is the most awfullest (yes i made up a word) website in the world. It should be used as an example of how to NOT design a website.

Absolutely agree with you. I can't imagine how such non-friendly and non-ergonomic thing can have been set-up.

In the other hand, the result forces the respect and should have required a lot of work to make all functionnalities as complicated as they are !!

Hi.

I've installed XI R3.1 on solaris, but now I'm gonna install only SP2, but the menu don't tell me about update an a previus installation, only works for a new install. Is it ok? and I was looking a simply SP2 but doesn't available in SAP's page. Somebody tell me where can I get a SP2 only or doesn't it exists? Thanks.

You can't just install SP2. SP2 is a patch/upgrade to the XIR3.1 installation. It must exist first before you can install SP2. Hopefully this answers your question.

FWIW we too had problems with the SAP support site. And our rep refused to return my emails or my calls. We're now withholding our support contract renewal as we're getting zero value out of it.

Back when it was CrystalDecisions I was impressed. When Business Objects took them over I was kinda meh about their service. Now with SAP I'll be recommending Cognos or Pentaho products for BI solutions. SAP just isn't doing it for me. Barely can I get a guy on the phone and when I do it's someone with an accent so thick that communication is next to impossible.
