Post subject: orphaned group header

Hi:

In crystal report, when printing or previewing a report, the Group Header display at the bottom of the page and the group’s records appear n the following page instead of on the same page as the Group Header. I cannot use ‘Keep Together’ option on this because my client doesn’t want to leave too much white space. Have you encountered this kind of scenario? If yes, how did you resolve it? Please advise.

Thanks,
Jan

Are you asking for widow-orphan control?

i.e. if you can't print the group header and x details records, then throw a new page before you print the header.

In CR2008:

There are two types of Keep Together. The first is in section Expert -> Common and the second is in Change Group Option -> Options.

The second of these will force a page break if it cannot fit the header and all the details onto the remaining space on the page.
