Hi,

This looks as a problem in the code of an add-in that you use. If possible go to menu Tools -> Add-Ins and check there which add-ins you use. If it's something custom built then you need to ask your BO administrator about it.

Yes, Marek

This is definely looks like a add-in issue. But we are not using any custom add-ins. The add-ins available on our computers (WebConnect.rea and OlapConnect.rea) are supplied by BO.

The starange thing is if I remove the registry entry for add-ins also gettign the same error and the add-in option on reporter is not disabling. Any ideas?

Hi,

Can you remove both BO default add-ins, it means to uncheck everything in the menu Tools -> Add-Ins? Do you still have the same error?

If I uncheck then login back and see the add-in again it shows checked (meaning the changes not persists). Is there an admin rights issue on computer? But i can get into the registry.

Hi Dora,

If you can change the registry then close all BO windows, open the registry editor and find this:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 6.0\default\BusinessObjects\BusObj General Preferences\busobj\Options\Addin\OlapConnect
Here is a key called Installed and has a value 1. Change it to 0.

Then do the same with WebConnect here:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 6.0\default\BusinessObjects\BusObj General Preferences\busobj\Options\Addin\WebConnect

Close the registry editor and open BO. Now the add-ins should not available in the Tools -> Add-ins

Thank you, Marek.

This worked. Apreciate your help.

1st time I removed the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 6.0\default\Shared\General\Directories\. so it didn't work.

Thanks again!

You should not have removed this key nonod.gif If possible recreate it. Or restore it from the computer where the key exists.
