Why is the forum "clock" wrong? It seems to be set incorrectly...
The forum clock is running from the host server, so it may be off by a few minutes one way or the other from your local time. The hours are set based on a time zone location. Our current setting is based on US Central Time, and is not adjusted for daylight savings time. The forum software does not currently support DST.
If you would rather see forum dates and times displayed based on your own location, there is an option to do that for registered users. Once you have registered you can adjust your Profile. After logging in you will see a link to your user profile at the top of any screen. Your time zone will start out as "GMT - 6 hours", which is the default for the forum. You may select your local time zone from the list of options provided.
If you want the forum to reflect DST, you can select a time zone that is "off" by one hour. You will have to remember to change it yourself in the spring and fall.
Okay, so why does the forum default to GMT - 6 hours?
Because that's the time zone where our forum administrator lives. |
