Post subject: Data Integrator : No output to screen during execution

Hi,

I am running through the tutorial and when I execute a job, although it runs successfully, the job log screen never displays any messages as it is executing as per the tutorial. I have checked in Tools | Options but can't find anything that would have suppressed these. I have also right clicked and set every Trace option in the Trace tab to yes, still no output to screen. Can anyone help please.

Thanks
BenI

Most likely you restarted the Jobserver but not the Designer.

When the Designer starts, it registers the Jobserver (if the Designer option is checked - what it is by default. Go to tools->options...) and asks to get notified whenever a new job is started. And it does not matter at all how that job was started, webadmin, schedule, realtime,.... all will get sent.

If you stopped the jobserver, this notification is obviously gone.

Another reason might be the network, e.g. server cannot instantiate a connection to the desktop computer due to firewall issues.

btw, there are some cases where the designer reregisters itself at the jobserver.....so it did not tell the entire truth, i just do not know exactly when this happens....
