Post subject: Getting YTD in cross table by period

Would seem pretty straight forward but cannot make it fly.

I have a cross table with in the rows materials.
In the colums I have periods.

Now I want a YTD Quantity by material for each period.
You would think this would do it :
Code:
=RunningSum([Total Quantity];([Material]))

But we have materials for which no transactions have been done in a period and then it all goes down the drain.

Thought I could fix it with an if iserror then 0.
But still it will not give me correct YTD quantities.

Example.

Material ABC has 10 in p1, 20 in p2 and not movement in p3.

Expect YTD p1 = 10, YTD p2 = 30, YTD p3 = 30

Bit YTD p3 will not be existing because there where not transactions.

Must be a way to count everything for a material up to a certain period??

to fill missing periods between min- and max-date you can use the "timedim()" function
but
if there is a missing period at beginning or the end of your range
you have to use a separate source/query which represents all the periods you want to display.
That source has to be merged to your existing date
