Post subject: CMC service health is in REd color

Dear experts,
1) In 4.2 sp6 all services are in health is green except the CMC service is in RED color.

1)I have checked that AUDITING the disabled.
2) It has enough space in the drive more than 100GB
3) i have checked in auditing folder there are 5000+ txt files are there with 0 KB should i have to delete those files also.
4) can u suggest what precautions to be taken care of it.
5) can some one tell me what regular performance or services to be taken care of monitoring purpose. to keep all services are in good and green color
6) at finally should i restart the SIA and check.

2)how to take the backup in 4.2 someone guide me..

You'll need to delete the files in the auditing folder. That could clear the danger status.

What I'm found in BI4 is two things:
  • If the CMS comes across an invalid entry in one of the audit files, it will cease flushing all audit data to the database until the invalid file is deleted
  • Unlike previous versions, the CMS will NOT flush existing audit files to the database upon restart

So, this means that once the CMS sees an invalid entry, any subsequent auditing entries will be lost, until all files are deleted.

This is bad, since it means that audit data will be lost.

I have a script I wrote to manually load the files. Instead of deleting them, I move them to another directory and run my script to load them into the database.

If I delete the audit files it will not have any impact to application. after restart the services.
