Post subject: Timeout settings - where and how to persist them

Hello folks:

I am pondering where in 4.2 SPx I have to set timeout settings in various places (Tomcat, Webi Proc Server, etc.) and how to persist them during any upgrade?

Thanks in advance.

Okay, answering myself ; )

Please check the SAP KBA "1615492 - How to preserve custom settings for BOE java apps in BI 4.0" -> http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1615492

This is the important location to keep the customized files:
Code:
<BOE_HOME>\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\warfiles\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config

Andreas, that will only persist the ".properties" files in that directory. If you have made timeout changes in the several web.xml files, that will have to be re-done.

I have a script I run after every re-deployment that searches for and replaces the "<session-timeout>20</session-timeout>" line in every web.xml file under webapps/BOE. I don't know of any other way to persist these changes.
