Sorry, after playing around with IDT for a while it is NOT an intuitive app at all and really shouldn't be part of BO; who created that mess!
Although IDT has more power to work with its far to messy to work... reminds me of working with MSTR and short venture with Crystal; both <GARBAGE> and should be disposed of |

I was part of the team that originally designed and QA`d Business View Manager in Crystal (before the 2003 buyoff).
I kind of like IDT because it`s very similar (i.e. modular data connection, foundation, business layer) to that. I just wish they would implement parametrised data connection like BVD had!

I'd like to try IDT more and use some of the expanded features, however the upgrade path for reports is holding us back currently. Having to manually change them all is not helpful. At all. Am I missing something clever? |

Dan, there is a consultancy "solution", but you would have to pay SAP for it. Been available for a while. _________________ Next Available for Contract Work - January 2018

Either use SDK to code your own solution, or go with SAP Consulting , or look at APOS, a 3rd Party solution to help you with your migration (unV to UnX and repointing Webi to new unX).
I personally do not favor migrating to unX just for the sake of it. Start new projects as unX, and keep the old ones as unV, unless you have a specific reason to migrate to unX such as optional universe prompts or using dynamic default prompts in unX (new with 4.1 SPP6), etc. _________________ Follow me on Twitter

It is possible with the REST API. Painful, but it works. |

The only thing you are missing is the extra time, effort and clumsiness on trying to get IDT to work.
As earlier postings said; similar to Microstrategy and Crystal and like them both once you do get to the end it is done.
Problem is BI needs can't wait for this to happen.
I agree Crystal and IDT - > |

Why does everyone hate Crystal? I think it is a great tool. I believe Webi has many short comings. |

When converting a universe from unv to unx - is there any way of comparing the two universes to make sure everything is still "in place"? Like the universe comparison/documenter tools I've found in here, only for comparing a unv universe with the unx version of itself? |
